If you are not already in Hong Kong, you are missing out on the 41st Hong Kong Rugby Sevens – the biggest rugby event in the sporting calendar. Since 1976, Hong Kong has been host to an event in which teams from the world’s leading rugby playing nations compete in lightning-fast 15 minute matches in front of 40,000 screaming fans.
HKSevens week which started with a kickoff concert featuring David Hasselhoff will conclude on April 10 2016. Cathay Pacific who are one of the sponsors of the event have special airline packages for the event.
The Hong Kong Tourism board is arranging a variety of events around the city – “the action at Hong Kong Stadium is merely the epicentre of a city-wide carnival.” As part of HKSEVENS Rugby Week, the Hong Kong Rugby Union is arranging a carnival at Chater Garden in Central Hong Kong. The festivities will include a variety of food and drink options and fun for the entire family including face painting and game booths and a ‘spin and win’ lucky draw competition.
Be sure to sign up for it next year.
