University student Thomas Savage has come up with a nine-storey hostel to accommodate both birds and people.
Savage proposes ‘towers’ made of concrete cabins and steel scaffolding enabling the birdwatchers Blyth, a port town in northern England, to enjoy the company of these creatures.
These quirky structures will house guests during summer and will be demarcated as protected nesting areas in the winter.
Birds enter through ‘tunnels’ in the roof, while birdwatchers will be able to admire these creatures by using the hostel’s staircases and platforms.
