Turkey is preparing for an inflow of a large number of tourists from the GCC during the Eid al Adha holidays in the first week of October. Gauging from the 78% growth in visitor numbers from the Gulf between May and July of 2014, Turkish hotels are likely to have a similar surge in tourists from the GCC.
Eid Al Adha, known also as the ‘Festival of Sacrifice’ is one of the most celebrated religious festivals by Muslims around the world. The most significant part of Eid is the sacrificing of animals to commemorate the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah. Turkey’s strong Islamic heritage together with its beautiful cities, historic landmarks, rich culture and traditions make it a very appealing destination for visitors from the Gulf and other Muslim countries.
If you are planning an Eid escape, it is best that you book your hotel and flights right away.
