If you always wanted to go somewhere where none of your friends would go, here is your chance of a lifetime. An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale shook Pakistan’s Baluchistan province on September 24 2013. While this brought death and destruction in its wake, it also resulted in a new island off the coast of Pakistan near Gwadar.
For your adventure of a lifetime you can take a flight to Karachi and rent a car that will take you to Gwadar which is about 500 km away (7 hours by road). Alternatively, you can take a PIA flight to Gwadar. Stay at the Zaver Pearl Continental Hotel which is the only 5-star hotel in Gwadar. Ask the concierege to arrange a private boat to take you to the new island, walk around but don’t smoke as there is methane gas around and smoking may cause a fire.

Geologists say that this volcanic island is actually a mud pile which was forced up due to the earthquake. The rough waves of the Arabian Sea will soon erode the island. Most geologists estimate that it will survive for about three months. You had better hurry if you want to visit an island that will be gone next year. And remember, your firends will never be able to visit!
