The luxurious Swiss-Belhotel was officially inaugurated today, giving Masirah Island its own luxury resort. Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of Omran, who attended the ceremony, said “This represents a new milestone by Omran in developing the tourism sector in the Sultanate by introducing various products and facilities to Omani visitors.” Dr. Rajha bin Abdulameer said Omran has been given a mandate to develop tourism infrastructure and facilities in order to expand the country’s current tourism industry He said this will support the government’s goal of developing tourism as a major national industry by 2020.
The Swiss-Belhotel is owned by Omran but operated by Swiss-Belhotel. The resort has 4 chalets, 14 standard rooms, 2 suites and various facilities including a swimming pool, gymnasium, and children’s play area. The resort is located next to the seafront giving guests a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea in a peaceful and tranquil environment.
