Hotel bookings in Dubai and the UAE have increased from 75 percent to full occupancy during this holiday season as airlines offer reduced fares to some destinations. Deputy General Manager of Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, Antony Wade, said their hotels are at full occupancy for the Christmas and New Year festivities. He said they were fully booked for the Christmas brunch and dinner reservations are very popular because of the beautiful view of the creek from their restaurants.
Wade said “This is great news for us and it certainly indicates that the demand is there despite the soft economic climate.” Director of Sales and Marketing for Rotana, Dubai and Northern Emirates, said they have a very positive forecast for business this holiday season, consistent with last years results. Director of Sales and Marketing at Dusit Thani Dubai said their guest numbers are increasing steadily for the festive season, between 40 percent and 50 percent.
