Four Seasons is currently in talks with developers about its first hotel in the UAE – in Dubai, and at the same time is reconsidering a planned project with the Al Futtaim Group. Four Seasons is also considering opportunities to expend in Abu Dhabi. Saudi Prince Al-Waleed’s Kingdom Holding and Cascade Investment, which is controlled by Bill Gates, owns Four Seasons.
Four Seasons Vice President of Sales and Marketing, David Crowl, said “Whenever we talk about growth and development, Dubai is on the top of the page.” Mr. Crowl said Four Seasons is still engaged with their existing partner, Al Futaim, to build the Four Seasons Hotel Dubai at Festival City, which would overlook the Badia Golf course. The golf course opened two years ago but the hotel has been repeatedly delayed. Mr. Crowl explained the project is postponed and “Everyone is engaged in the process of re-evaluating their projects. This is an effect of economy shrink.”
