The Rocco Forte Collection announced it will open its first hotel in the Middle East at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi by next year. The hotel company now has 13 luxury hotels in Europe including the Victorian-era Browns’ hotel in London and the Hotel Astoria in St. Petersburg. Both properties are historical buildings with modern décor.
The Rocco Forte Collection focuses on providing an intimate personal experience only a smaller establishment can provide, so it contrasts greatly with the gigantic scale of the Emirate’s Palace. Rocco Forte Collection’s 281 room, Dh600 million five star property in Abu Dhabi was created by architects and interior designers who worked on Burj Al Arab Hotels in Dubai. The new hotel is being developed by the Tourism Development and Investment Company and Al Farida Investments. Sir Rocco both owns and manages all the company’s hotels in Europe, but will manage only the Abu Dhabi hotel.
