Marriot International signed a contract yesterday with Dhafar Tourism Company to manage the 234 room Salalah Beach Marriot Resort in Oman. The resort will open in December and be located about 75 kilometers from Salalah. It will be part of a mixed use beachfront development. The resorts dining options will include an all day restaurant, seafood outlet, English pub, and Arabic café. There will be a lounge and a bar in the open space lobby, and recreational facilities include an outdoor swimming pool with separate areas for adult and children’s activities, a spa an fitness center.
Ed Fuller, president and managing director for international lodging for Marriot International said “We are thrilled that we will soon be represented in Oman”. Osama Mariam, Chief Executive Officer of Dohar Tourism Company, said “We are delighted Marriot International has partnered with us to launch their first property in the Sultanate of Oman.”
