Under an agreement with Emirates, the Harbor Hotel & Residences at Dubai Marina will partner with Marriot International Portfolio on 15 September. The 52 story property will be rebranded the Dubai Marriot Harbor Hotel & Suites later this year. This is the second contract Marriot has finalized with Emirates, following an agreement to operate the 1,614 room JW Marriot Marquis Hotel Dubai, which is currently under construction. Emirates Airline President Tim Clark said “Since the opening of the Harbour, we have received a good response from our customers, enjoyed an average occupancy of 76 per cent for the year, and have a firm financial base.”
Clark said the partnership will allow Emirates Hotels and Resorts to focus on its conservation based resorts, which are its core business. These include Wolgan Valley Resort Spa in Australia, which is scheduled for a soft opening in October, and Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa.
