Aloke Dey, the manager of Sharaf Travel Holidays one of the largest tour operators in Dubai told a UAE mewspaper that room rates in the city’s four and five star hotels had dropped by up to 30%. However, despite these cuts, he added, demand is still down 10% as compared to the same period in 2007.
