A new 369 room, five star hotel at the Ibn Battuta Gate in Dubai is set to open this May. Construction work on the hotel is nearly complete, and the property will be handed over to its owner, Seven Tides, at the end of January for the final fitting out. The Swiss hotel group Movenpick Hotels and Resorts expects to open the hotel in May 2010.
Managing Director for Seven Tides, Michael Scully said “Ibn Battuta Gate is already a landmark with its striking architecture and will appeal to those who appreciate sophistication and five-star luxury, whether for business or leisure.” Brett Whalley, head of Commercial Leasing at Asteco, which is managing the mixed use property for Seven Tides said now that the scaffolding is off and preparations for handover are almost complete, entrepreneurs are showing considerable interest in the complex.
