Jebel Ali International Hotels will launch the exclusive 10 villa Round Island Resort on a small island in Seychelles in the third quarter of this year. This is the first foray overseas for the Dubai based company. The resort will be located on a 2 hectare resort in a national marine park on Mahe Island, 6.5 km east of the capital Victoria.
Director of sales and marketing at Jebel Ali, Mariann Valero, said “Seychelles is going to be a huge project. We’re looking at a couple of other projects internationally and locally, but nothing very soon.” The company will open its second Seychelles resort, The Waterfront, in 2012. Jebel Ali Hotel was reopened in November following a five month refurbishment program, and has achieved occupancy levels close to 90 percent this month due mainly to a promotional 50 percent discount reopening rate. Jebel Ali Hotel was one of Dubai’s first luxury hotels when it first opened in 1981.
