Hilton Worldwide, the global hotel chain, announced plans to open its first branded hotel in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh in three years. The company said in a statement on Wednesday it plans to open the 830 room, new build hotel in the Saudi capital in the fourth quarter of 2013. Ian Carter, President of Global Operations, Hilton Worldwide, said “Our goal has always been to have a Hilton branded property in every capital city in the world, so we are delighted to have signed this management agreement marking our entry into Riyadh.”
The Hilton Riyadh Hotel & Residence will have two towers. One tower will be 20 storeys high with 480 rooms and the other will be 14 storeys high with 350 hotel apartments. The new hotel will be located near the Granada Centre, the Riyadh International Conference Center, and the King Abdullah Financial District.
