Jumeirah Group, the luxury hotel operator that manages Burj Al Arab, will manage a new five star hotel located in the Maldives. Dubai based Jumeirah Group signed an agreement with Xanadu Holdings Private Limited to manage Jumeirah Meradhoo, which is located south of the Maleé Atoll, in Gaafu Alifu Atoll. Jumeirah said in a statement “This is the second phase of the group’s expansion strategy in an area which is recognized as the world’s top luxury resort destination.”
The 36 villa Jumeirah Meradhoo resort will be located on a 45,000 square meter uninhabited island. 16 villas will be separated from the main island, forming a separate water village. Each water village villa will measure 240 square meters. The 20 luxury beach villas on the main island will measure about 300 square meters. The resort will also have a dive center, providing guests access to one of the best reefs in the Maldives, a Talise spa, three restaurants, and a bar.
