March 18- The Mövenpick Resort & Residence Aqaba and Mövenpick Resort Tala Bay are the first two hotels in Jordan to be awarded the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification for its food safety management programme. The certification is a seven-step food safety management system that takes into account various physical, chemical and biological hazards with regard to food and how to prevent them from occurring. HACCP is included in the ISO 22000 international standards system.
“HACCP has become a widely-accepted production control system for the food industry worldwide,” said Peter Hoesli, General Manager, at Movenpick Resort & Residence, Aqaba. “Both the US Food and Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture use HACCP programme as an effective approach to maximise food safety and protect public health,” said Hubert Klemenz, the general manager of Mövenpick Resort Tala Bay.
