March 31- Abu Dhabi’s largest water hotel, the Grand Canal, is slated to open by the end of this year, announced the Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) Mohammed Al Hajri. The design of the hotel, he said, has been inspired by the architecture found in Venice. “Grand Canal constructed on the sea coast, will add a new dimension to green tourism and will be considered one of the most beautiful touristic resorts not just in the UAE but also in the Gulf and the Arab region,” he added while speaking on the sidelines of the Gulf Travel and Incentives Exhibition and Conference (GIBTM) in Abu Dhabi. He also announced the opening of Park Hyatt hotel on Saadiyat Island next year.
ADNH, he said, will continue to expand the tourism sector in Abu Dhabi. “The company will not stop and will not defer any of the projects that have been agreed upon, for the full conviction that there is a promising future awaiting the tourism industry in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.” Apart from that, Al Hajri said that desert resorts are being planned for Abu Dhabi for which research is underway.
Talking about Louvre Abu Dhabi, he pointed that it will be one of the most important attractions of the cultural district of Abu Dhabi which is currently under development, along with the Sheikh Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
