May 8 – Participating hotels in the six week Summer in Abu Dhabi festival will provide discounts of up to 50 percent, and there will be a variety of other promotional offers to attract 200,000 visitors to the capital. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) is organizing the festival which takes place from June 4th until August 5th. The ADTA has partnered with 40 hotels for the festival and is awarding special one to one deals with Etihad Airways. The promotion lets children under the age of 16 travel free with an adult who purchased a ticket from any of the five Gulf Co-operation Council cities: Kuwait, Riyadh, Muscat, Manama, and Doha.
“The festival should attract 25,000 more tourists, which would be a 15 percent increase on last year’s 175,000 guests” said Dayne Lim, ADTA Product Development Director. Layme said most of the promotional offers are focused on GCC visitors because they are the second largest inbound tourist market for Abu Dhabi, after the United Kingdom.
