Dubai, UAE, May 2011: Mövenpick Hotel Deira has become a favourite for those looking for calm in the city. The hotel has allocated a portion of its guest rooms to a ‘Relax Zone’
According to the hotel’s general manager, Michael Nugent, some guests have asked for a dedicated space to relax and unwind. “What can I say? Customer feedback is fed back at the Mövenpick Hotel Deira and a working example is the hotel’s Relax Zone on level three,” said Nugent.
He mentioned that the hotel’s service team will work the Relax Zone – quietly, and will not up the tempo until 10am, guaranteed.
“ ‘Do not disturb’ is honoured in our Relax Zone, meaning that guests arriving through the night are guaranteed not to be disturbed before 10am. Then, by 8pm each evening the service is back to quiet mode.”
A special Quiet Kit comes as part of the quiet floor’s amenities. It contains ear plugs and an eye mask for those who really want to slumber deep. Guests are encouraged to use Bluetooth headphones when watching the flat screen TV.
Nugent also confirmed that room service is delivered by tray. “Service trolleys do not get a pass to the third floor. All drinks and meals are delivered by tray with a gentle tap on the door and no loud ‘room service’ announcement.”
The 216-room hotel is located at the heart of Old Dubai’s early commercial district on the north side of the city’s arterial waterway, Dubai Creek. The hotel is in demand by those looking for affordable upscale accommodation in Deira, including business executives, destination travellers and inquisitive shoppers. However, those looking for some sun and surf are also provided for.
“We also give you a beach,” confirmed Nugent. “Our private beach club, the Oceana Beach Club, as well as West 14th, the New York-influenced Grill and Bar are located on The Palm Jumeirah. The hotel bus shuttles to and from the beachside rest and relaxation haven throughout the day.”
Golfers will also find the appeal of Deira, with five clubs on one doorstep. “There are two golf courses within easy reach, The Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club is just minutes away, and the new Al Badia Golf Club not much further. The south bank golf clubs – Emirates, Montgomerie and Els are less than 25 minutes away,” concluded Nugent.
The Mövenpick Hotel Deira, the first new international five-star hotel in Deira for more than a decade is a Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts property in partnership with Seven Tides. The hotel also has a rooftop swimming pool and a gym. There is instant WiFi on log-in throughout the hotel’s public areas for swift global connectivity. The hotel is connected by convenient road links to all major airports, the capital city of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, Downtown Dubai, Dubai World Trade Centre, Bur Dubai, Deira, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. Ras Al Khaimah can be reached in less than an hour by an almost straight road from the hotel.
