Hilton Niseko Village will be hosting the 53rd annual ski competition, “World Airlines Ski Championship (WASC)” as the official hotel from 4 to 8 March, 2012.
WASC is an annual ski and snowboard competition organized by IASF, International Airline Ski Federation, and has been held annually for over 50 years.
Founded in 1960, this will be the second time that the WASC is held in Japan, having held it in Naeba in Niigata prefecture in 1978. In 2012, 600 attendees including competitors from more than 30 airline companies including Lufthansa, Delta Air Lines and Qantas Airwaysand supporters are expected to gather in Niseko for three race disciplines; Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic.
