Yes, the legendary New York hotel is available for $15.75 per night – but there is a catch. If you spent your wedding night at the Waldorf Astoria and you are celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary (or more) and have the original receipt from your wedding night stay, then you can stay at the hotel for the same price you paid 50 years ago.
The uber-luxurious hotel has a long-standing tradition of offering the original rate to couples who have retained their receipt after 50 years of marriage and a New York area couple is taking up their offer this weekend – to celebrate 66 years of marriage. For their 1948 wedding night stay they paid all of $15.75 and that is what they will pay in 2014.
While standard guest rooms at the Waldorf are currently available for $229 a night, suites start from $499. So, not everybody can stay at the Waldorf for the price of two Big Mac meals.
