Rocco Forte’s Verdura Golf & Spa Resort in Sicily, Italy has launched ‘Endless Privileges’ a new all-inclusive ‘stay and play’ programme offering golfers a host of benefits including daily green fees, complimentary lunch and dinner, and a selection of golf accessories to take home.
As part of this programme golfers will have unlimited access to four different and challenging courses designed around the natural contours of the Sicilian landscape and coast, as well as enjoying world-class facilities. To complement the resort’s two 18-hole Championship courses and 9-hole course, players can tee-off in the footsteps of the world’s best golfers on Verdura’s newest course – a combination of the most testing holes of the East and West courses and featuring twelve signature holes by the Mediterranean Sea – which recently played host to Europe’s best during the 2012 PGA Sicilian Open.
Next month, the resort will host three further prestigious tournaments – the BMW Golf Cup, the Rolex 2012 Tournament and the Italian finals of the 2012 Jaguar Golf Trophy – confirming its growing status as a world-class golf destin-ation for players and spectators alike. Designed by leading golf ar-chitect Kyle Phillips, Verdura’s links courses wrap around the resort’s buildings and follow the shoreline, providing an exciting year-round golfing experience. Two years on from its opening, the courses have matured into glorious, gently undulating landscapes dotted with citrus and olive trees and punctuated by challenging bunker and water hazards. Alternating each day, one of the golf courses is dedicated to two ball play, providing an atmosphere more associated with a private golf club.
Verdura also benefits from excellent practice facilities including a double-ended driving range; three chipping and putting greens; and three bunkers while the Verdura Golf Academy, led by Golf Director Niall Cameron and his team of PGA qualified professionals, offers one-on-one tuition along with regular clinics. The clubhouse, built around a small piazza, houses a pro shop which sells equipment and clothing from luxury golf brands; a restaurant and bar where golfers can enjoy a daily complimentary ‘19th Hole’ lunch; male and female changing rooms with showers and lockers. Guests will also be able to unwind at the award-winning Verdura Spa, with dedicated treatments designed to relax the muscles after a day on the golf course.
