Antarctica
The Ice Runway in Antarctica is used to bring supplies to McMurdo Station and consists of groomed ice rather than a paved runway. One important consideration in landing planes here is making sure the weight of the plane doesn’t break the ice. Once the ice runway begins to deteriorate, planes are redirected to Antarctica’s two other landing strips.
