Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum Al AinSheikh Zayed Palace, built in 1937, was the residence of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan – the ruler of the Eastern Region at the time – until 1966. In 2001, it was converted into a museum and was opened to the public.

The simplicity of the buildings, along with the secluded gardens and the flourishing green palm trees at the west side of the Al Ain Oasis, truly reflects the country’s culture prior to its’ striking developments.

As you are roaming around the palace, a few things to look at are; the meeting room where His Highness used to hold important meetings; the school rooms where the members of his family used to study; and the numerous photographs of the royal family.

The Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum stands out as a great cultural symbol and a memorial for the modern history of the UAE.
