Housed within a large, imposing, five-storied structure with a huge dome, the central bathhouse in Almaty offers a rejuvenation experience like no hotel sauna ever could!
Three types of baths for you to choose from – heat your body in a dry Finnish bath, sweat in a hot steamy Russian bath, or rest on heated platforms and cool off in a plunge pool afterwards in a traditional Turkish bath.
Beat yourself or your bath buddies with bundled birch leaves which you can purchase from vendors outside the bathhouse. This helps to improve circulation.
Vigorous half-hour whole-body massages are offered at around 2000 KZT. These will definitely shake you down like anything, but you will leave the building feeling relaxed and re-energized.
If you forget to bring along soap or shampoo, or a sponge, you can just buy some from the stalls at the entrance.
The bathhouse contains strictly isolated men and women’s areas.
