Health and Safety
Amsterdam is a safe city and the city stays alive till late in the night. It is hence not uncommon to find people on the road even well past midnight although standard security precautions need to be taken, like being wary of your belongings in public areas etc.
On the health front, all visitors are advised to take out medical insurance before traveling to Amsterdam to cover unforeseen medical expenses. Although the government provides health cover to visitors, this facility is limited only to visitors from countries with whom the Dutch government has a reciprocal agreement.
