The underground rail is the most efficient means of transportation in Beijing. Whilst tubes are not as fast as those found in other parts of the world, it is still preferable over the other modes of travel. This network has extensive coverage. Most of Beijing’s attractions are covered by the circle line, line 1 and line 13. More lines have opened to cater to visitors during the Beijing Olympics 2008. There are now a total of 8 lines.
