Museum

ImageThe Coptic Museum was built in 1910 to trace the history of Christianity in Egypt. Some of the highlights include Coptic textiles, ancient paper (known as papyri) with writings from the Gnostic gospels of Nag Hammadi, carved ivories, and Nubian paintings from the flooded villages of Lake Nassar. The setting of the museum is pleasing to the eye with florid designs and centered in a garden.
