From airport
Taxi is the best way to get from the airport to your desired destination. Getting a taxi is easy, just exit the terminal and you will find rows of taxis. Do not be afraid to negotiate with the driver, you will be able to get a lower price with a little bit of bargaining. You can also hire a limousine (which costs around the same as a taxi), but to do so ask an airport employee where to grab a limo since they are not as scattered as the taxis.
The airport also offers a shuttle bus service which drives to six areas: Heliopolis, Nasr-City, Downtown Cairo, Giza, Mohandesin, Zamalek, Maadi, and Haram (Pyramids area).
Shuttle bus service per passenger prices are as follows:
Heliopolis- 25 LE (Egyptian Pound)
Nasr City- 30 LE
Downtown- 35 LE
El Mohandiseen- 40LE
Alharam-El Maadi- 45LE
Hellwan district- 105 LE
To book one of these shuttle buses go to the arrival hall at Terminal Building 1 or 2. You can also call the Cairo Airport Company at +2022653937.
To go by public bus, go to the bus parking lot in Terminal 1 and catch bus number 356. There are two types of buses: one air-conditioned and the other non- airconditioned. Make sure you get an air-conditioned bus since it will be more comfortable for you. The buses arrive every twenty minutes and are rather cheap. Some of the main bus stops include the Tahrir Squarem downtown Cairo, Mohandesin, and the Pyramids Road in Giza.
