The whale festival is held annually in September to welcome the arrival of Spring and to mark the return of the Southern Right whales to Walker Bay. The venue is Hermanus, the best point to view the whales from. The natural beauty of this area is exhilarating and thousands congregate here to watch the whales whilst enjoying other activities as well such as dancing, cabaret and singing.
