altAs with most cities, tourists in Casablanca should be careful while moving about especially at night. It is best to be discreet and not flash your wealth around eg. fancy expensive watches, cameras or wads of money.  Drug and alcohol related problems do exist so one should be very careful as to whom one is talking to. It is best not to get too friendly with the locals as petty thefts are known to take place. Women should take care to dress modestly and are advised not to wander around alone. It is best to take a safe mode of transportation like a car or taxi (which is not too expensive). If you intend to visit the beach remember not to leave valuables unattended as this might provoke theft.

Like always, common sense is the tool that will come handy if any untoward incident does occur. It is advisable to know beforehand the contact numbers of the embassy of your country in Morocco.

In the event of a car accident resulting in injuries, the police emergency number is190, but an ambulance may not be available. For an ambulance in Casablanca, call Amal Assistance at 022-36-44-36 or 022-39-20-03 or SOS Medecins Maroc at 022-25-25-25
