United Center

The United Center is hallowed ground for basketball fans.  It was here that the legendary Michael Jordan finished his career.  He actually began his career and accomplished his first three-peat across the street at the beloved Chicago Stadium, which has since been demolished.  The United Center opened in 1994, just in time for the Bulls’ second three-peat.  It is the largest arena in the United States.  A famous statue of Michael Jordan stands at the entrance.

The United Center is home to the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, one of hockey’s Original Six teams.  Both teams play their seasons from October through April, so if you’re in town during fall or winter, consider checking out a game.  The Bulls appear to be set for another successful run, and the fans are some of the league’s best.  Tickets can be fairly pricey, however.

The arena also plays host to concerts and other events, including the circus.  The United Center is a great place for fans, with excellent sightlines and concessions.  It’s easily accessible by public transportation.
