altA unique and fun way to travel, and enjoy Copenhagen’s various sights and attractions, is by the DFDS Canal Tours. It is also known as the “water boat” and operates much like a chair lift does; the first one gets to be on the boat. The route is divided into three circular rings at the northern, central and southern part of the inner harbour and canals. Like any other tour bus, these canal tours have either live or pre-recorded tour guides which brief the tourists about the various sights that pass by in English or Danish. The services of the DFDS are subject to changes depending on the weather conditions. During the winter months, special roof-covered boats which central heating are made available for the comfort of tourists. An alternative to these boats are public harbor buses which run parallel to the canal and are much faster and efficient. A point to be noted is that these buses are accessible on the same tickets as other public buses. The city also offers a special promotion offer which allows you to benefit from unrestrained transportation be it on the buses or the DFDS with a payment of 220 Kr.
