Water Taxis (Abras)

Motorized water taxis called abras are a very popular and inexpensive way of commuting across the Creek from Deira to Bur Dubai. They can be taken from the abra station at the intersection of Al Sabkha and Bani Yas Road. The Gold Souk and Al Ahmadiya School are within walking distance of the Deira side.  On the Bur Dubai side, you disembark at the souk and the Dubai Museum is just a 5 minute walk away.The cost of a one way trip is only 1Dh and crossing takes less than 10 minutes.
They operate from 06:00 until midnight.
An air conditioned Dubai Waterbus also ferries passengers across the creek. The charge for this is 4Dhs, one way.

Abras can be hired for a private cruise along the creek as well.  The cost is around 35Dhs – 50Dhs for 30 minutes. Bargain hard and you will get a good price.
