Buses GenevaThe Transports Publics Genevois (TPG) provides public transport by bus, trolleybus or tram.

This network covers the city extensively, providing additional access to most of the regions around Geneva, and also extending into the neighboring counties of France.

Tickets for tram and bus service have to be bought from ticket machines before boarding. These machines are conveniently located at every stop.

Tickets can also be bought from newspaper stands.

Tickets are priced at 2 CHF for a journey of 3 stops or less.

A special ticket costing 3CHF provides permission to use the transport service for 1 hour, with unlimited changes at any stop, at any place around Geneva.

A transport pass that is valid from 0900 to 0000 costs 7 CHF.

A 24 hr transport pass, valid from the time of purchase, costs 10 CHF.

SBB Demi-Tarif/Halbtax card-holders get 20-30% discount on ticket prices.

The ticket machines around the city do not provide you with change, so if you overpay, take the ticket you purchased to the nearest TPG office, where you can be refunded with the difference in cost.
