Quan Su Pagoda
Constructed in the 15th century the pagoda became the headquarters of the Tonkin Buddhist Association in 1934, and today it is headquarters for the Vietnam Central Buddhist Congregation.
Quan Su Pagoda is also referred to as the Ambassador’s Pagoda or Chua Quan Su, and is one of the main Vietnamese-styled temples in Hanoi. It houses many finely carved statues, some dating back to the 15th century. It has the largest Buddhist library in Vietnam and is a major Buddhist learning and research centre.
It’s an active pagoda and usually thronged with worshipers. The interior is dim and smoky with incense. The timings for visitors to the pagoda are 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm. Admission is free.
