Celebrated on 12th June is this event in honor of Helsinki’s birthday. This day is of immense importance to the Finnish because of the historical events that Finland had to overcome to finally become an independent state. Events are organized outside the city hall and entertainment and food stalls are lined up throughout the city. As a treat, entrance to cultural exhibits and programs are made free so everyone can enjoy the most important day in Helsinki history.
