You will find a lot of miniature painters and sculptors dotted around the Imam Square. Sitting underneath a small shade or tent, these master craftsmen produce finely carved, intricately detailed pieces of miniature art, a Persian specialty. Cheap, convenient to carry around, and, most importantly, very pretty in themselves, these miniatures are a delight to any foreigner who has yet to experience Oriental art forms.
An experienced artist by the name of Abu Talibi is especially known for some amazing pieces he creates – be sure to check him out once you are there. Other local craftsmen might also interest you – the more popular an artist is, the more he tries to charge for his art! Peek around several stalls before you decide to buy a piece.
