When to Go

The best time to visit Karachi is during the winter, from December through February.  Temperatures are comfortable, and sunshine is both abundant and pleasant.  Karachi is hot in the summers, from May to mid-July, and then again from late September to early November.  The monsoon season brings thunderstorms and torrential downpours in July and August.  If you like to sit at home, sip tea, and enjoy the local pakoras, this time of year if perfect; but if you plan on going out shopping and sightseeing, this is the worst time of year to visit Karachi.  Rainwater on the roads make the city seem more like Venice than Karachi, and standstill traffic is even worse than usual.
