Air Line

altAeroporto de Lisboa is situated 6km outside of Lisbon; there is a 24hr exchange bureau, car rental agencies and a tourist office (operating daily 7am-midnight, 218 450 660). The Aerobus (number 91) operates the Arrivals lounge, departing around every 20 minutes from 7:45am to 8:15pm. The journey into the city takes a maximum of 35 minutes and makes five stops at different metro stations: Praca Marques de Pombal, Praca dos Restauradores, Rossio, Praca do Comercio and Cais do Sodre. Tickets are €3.40 and offer free passage on the entire city bus service for the remainder of the day.

Local buses do operate from the airport – look for buses 43, 44 and 45, a single ticket will cost €1.35. While they do take a little longer than the Aerobus, these services are considered a better deal if you arrive in the afternoon. It is best to avoid them at rush hour however, if you have a lot of luggage.

A taxi ride into Lisbon from the airport will cost upwards of €10 with an extra €1.60 charge if your luggage needs to be put in the boot.  Fares are slightly higher from 10pm to 6am and on weekends and public holidays. A good way to avoid queues is to get a taxi at the Departures lounge.
