Fleet Street
Fleet Street is to journalism what Madison Avenue (New York) is to advertising and Wall Street is to banking: the first home of all British national newspapers, including Reuters. Even though today the street is now populated with investment banks, accountancy firms and legal offices, it is still used as a metonym for the British national press. The Docklands is now home to many British newspapers.
Several works of fiction are set on the street, including Sweeney Todd and Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities. It’s definitely worth a visit.
