Petticoat Lane market is said to be one of the oldest markets in Britain. Although open from Monday to Friday, it is on Sundays when the market is in full bloom when the more than 1,000 stalls spill over to nearby streets, selling everything from veggies and jewellery to accessories and clothes. The market is closed on Saturdays. Visitors are advised to be alert when shopping in this area as street crime is rampant here.
