When to go
The city of Madrid is synonymous with “Nueve meses de invierno, tres meses de infierno” meaning “nine months of winter, three months of hell”, however in reality it may prove contrary to that. Summer months are scorching with arid temperatures mounting up to 100 degrees particularly during the last week of July and the initial three weeks of August. So avoid visiting Madrid during summers. Winters on the other hand prove to prolong, devoid of any snow. The best time to be in Madrid is March – May or October. Plenty of activities take place during these months with favourable weather conditions making the stay pleasant. May corresponds with the biggest festival of Madrid’s patron saint, San Isidro.
