A rather small and simple yet uniquely appealing 18th century building houses this museum. The collections consist largely of ornamental objects large and small, from around Europe, Oriental Asia, and Mexico itself, donated largely by philanthropist Franz Mayer.
The museum also has a small library, and offers educational tours, performances, and special programs for children. A rather pleasing addition is the café – makes for perfect chats between anthropologists from around the globe.
A treat to lovers of cultural diversity, but that is about it – do not head there unless you absolutely adore decorative detailing on brass doorknobs, silver utensils and ceramics and furniture.
