This is the city’s signature art museum. Housed currently in a formal-looking 1904 building with orderly, elegant fenestration that offers no clue to the colorful, artistic world within, the museum contains permanent exhibits of the works of some early, pre-Hispanic Mexican artists, as well as temporary displays of  contemporary Mexicans.
