Czar Cannon and Czar Bell

These are two fantastic though strange features of the Kremlin. The cannon was built in the late 16 th Century to defend the Kremlin’s Savior Gate. The bell was built in the early 18th Century and is the largest in the world, weighing around 200 tons. Both were never used and are reflective of the extravagance and excessiveness of Russian rulers.
