This charming historical hotel is a blend of the modern and the traditional. Its architectural style is distinctive and goes back to the colonial days of the 1940’s. Earlier known as the Mayfair Court Hotel it is now part of the Holiday Inn group. The rooms are large and comfortable with all modern luxuries. The gardens are very well preserved. The staff is warm, friendly and extremely hospitable. They speak English, Swahili, German and French.
The hotel is close to the suburbs of Parkland which is popular both as a residential area as well as a shopper’s delight. The hotel is just about 4 kms from the City Centre.
There are 171 rooms including the executive rooms and 9 suites. Each room has all modern amenities like a TV, telephone, radio, tea/coffee making machine, smoking and non smoking rooms, as well as rooms for the physically challenged. Internet, mini bar, iron, dryer, safe etc have also been provided in each room.
The Oasis restaurant, next to the pool deck, caters to all appetites. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here in an informal setting. The Golden Spur Restaurant, near the lobby, is famous for its excellent steaks. It is open for lunch and dinner and has a western feel to it. The hotel also boasts of two bars. One is the Oasis Bar near the poolside and the other the Golden Spur Bar. Both are attached to the restaurants with the same name.
The hotel has a well equipped fitness centre and gymnasium. Special aerobic classes are held here. There is a sauna and steam room. The hotel has two outdoor pools. It also has a gift shop and a beauty parlor. It is a child friendly place and has baby sitting facilities. Pets are allowed with prior permission.
