Fête de St-Sylvestre (New Year’s Eve)

The largest and most prominently celebrated event in the Latin Quarter near the Sorbonne is the advent of the New Year. At midnight, the city explodes in a hullabaloo of music, cheering, and partying and the St. Michel Boulevard as well as the Champs Elysées  transform into raving parties that continue until dawn.
