Disneyland Resort Paris
Disneyland’s Paris resorts, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, attract more than 15,000,000 visitors each year. It is located 32km from central Paris in the town of Marne-la-Vallée. The resort was built on the heels of Tokyo Disneyland’s success. The site outside Paris was chosen because of its central location in Western Europe: 300,000,000 people are within a two hour plane ride. Completed in 1992, the Disneyland Park was not initially a success, but over time it has grown into Europe’s most visited tourist attraction. Walt Disney Studios Park opened in 2002.
If you love theme parks or have never been to any other Disneyland resorts, then this is a good place to spend a day or two. Otherwise there are better ways to pass the time in Paris. Disneyland Paris is easily accessible by train and has its own stop on the Metro’s RER. There are plenty of hotels at the resort if you want to stay overnight. Get there early to avoid the crowds.
Metro: Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy (RER A)
