Taxis can be hard to find, especially during rush hour. They can be hailed on the street, or at taxi stands located at Metro stations and major intersections. Lights on the roof indicate whether the taxi is free or not.
Rates start at €5.50. You’re never more than a few hundred meters from a metro station, so there’s really no reason to take one during the day, especially considering traffic jams. Only take one at night, or if you’ve got a big group to split the fare.
Tipping is expected, though not mandatory, and there are extra charges if you need to use the trunk.
